Hyundai Tucson is the latest vehicle by the South-Korean manufacturer in India. The SUV has drawn a lot of interest and is already sold out for this year. The Hyundai Tucson's results of the Latin NCAP crash tests have just been released. The variants that were examined included one with two airbags and one with six airbags. In a prior Euro NCAP test conducted in November 2021, the new Tucson received a 5-star rating. The 6 Airbags variant received 3 stars in Latin NCAP, while the 2 Airbags variant received 0 stars.

The Tucson involved in the crash test was made in both the Czech Republic and South Korea. The version with two airbags received a score of 20.09 points, or 50.23% of the total point for adult occupant safety. However, the same model only received 2.62 points, or 5.34 percent of the total points for kid safety.

For Adult Safety, the head and neck protection provided to the driver and passenger was excellent. The chests of the driver and passenger were well-protected. Knee protection for the driver and passenger was only fair because they could collide with hazardous structures behind the fascia. The tibias of the driver and passengers both demonstrated acceptable and good protection. The Footwell area received a steady rating. The Head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis were well protected in a side impact.

In Child Safety, using ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg, the child seat for the 3-year-old was mounted rearward facing. It provided strong protection and could stop head exposure. The CRS provided complete protection. The CRS prevented the head exposure and provided complete protection when the Q1.5 was mounted backward facing utilising ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg.

In the Latin NCAP crash test, the six airbag version received three stars. In terms of adult safety, it received 32.64 points, or 81.61 percent. On the other side, it received 34.07 points, or 69.53 percent, for child safety.

Adult Occupant Frontal Impact: The head and neck of the driver and passenger received good protection. The chests of the driver and passenger were well-protected. Knee protection for the driver and passenger was only fair because they could collide with hazardous structures behind the fascia.
