Ever since Mahindra launched the second-gen Thar in 2020, it received an overwhelming response from the Indian market. So much so that people were selling their Thars at a premium price in the second-hand market and the potential buyers were happy to spend more for the product. The story repeated the same for XUV700 and now for the Scorpio N too.

The prices of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N were out a few weeks ago and it received over 1 lakh bookings in just 30 minutes. However, the first 25,000 buyers will only be able to enjoy the introductory prices and the carmaker has made a statement that they will be prioritising the production of the top-spec Z8L trims.
That said, one of the early 25,000 buyers has booked the Z8 Diesel AT with 4WD set-up that costs Rs 21.90 lakh, ex-showroom, Punjab. The buyer has quoted a premium of Rs 27 lakh OTR once it gets delivered to him. The delivery of this model will be made in October 2022.
Mechanically, Mahindra Scorpio N gets two engine options - 2.0L Stallion petrol and 2.2L diesel. The former pumps out as much as 200 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 370 Nm(MT) and 380 Nm(AT). The oil burner is available in two different tunes - 128 bhp / 300 Nm and 172 bhp/ 370 Nm. The diesel auto generates peak torque of 400 Nm.

Feature-wise, the new Scorpio N gets modern equipment such as an electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a multi-function steering wheel, LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity features and more.
