2022 Royal Enfield 650cc Super Meteor & Cruiser are the upcoming addition to the company's product lineup. Read all the details below.
It is well known that the cult motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield is working on the expansion of its product lineup. In order of this, 2022 Royal Enfield 650 Cruiser and Super Meteor have been spied undisguised testing internationally.
Loaded with accessories, the test mules captured in the latest spy shots reveal the near-production-ready products. The 650 twins' global success has encouraged the company to add on newer models in the 650 category.
Unofficially called the 650 Cruiser, Shotgun 650, and Super Meteor 650; these newer models shall make it to markets globally by the end of this year. What we know so far is perceived from the latest photos.
2022 Royal Enfield 650 Cruiser
It was being anticipated that the upcoming 650 Cruiser shall retain aesthetics from the Super Meteor. Looking at the new spy shots it is clear that there are major design difference between the Cruiser and Super Meteor.
Low-slung typical cruiser design is followed by the longer wheelbase which shall be longest in the complete 650 range. A wide handlebar, front set foot pegs, wide and comfortable large single seat, a bigger tank for better cruising range, upside down front forks shall be the major design elements of cruiser version.
Royal Enfield has designed the Cruiser like the bigger cruiser motorcycles such as Harley Davidson and Indian.
Another major design character shall be the semi-digital speedometer featuring the tripper-navigation for turn-by-turn navigation assist to riders. Royal Enfield is expected to use the same 650cc, parallel-twin engine from the 650 twins' which makes 47 Bhp of peak power and 52 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed transmission will be used with slipper clutch and assist. To compensate the increased weight and changed riding dynamics, the gear ratios and ECU might be retuned.
Another noticeable change is the use of a headlight cowl which is a mix of body colour and chrome inserts; providing the 650 Cruiser a big motorcycle aura like the Indian, Harley Davidson.

2022 Super Meteor 650
Unlike the cruiser variant, Super Meteor posses a slightly committed riding posture like the smaller Meteor 350. Another major difference is the single-seat setup which is seen on the small Meteor 350 as well. An upright posture will make the Super Meteor more city-friendly.
While the Cruiser 650 test mule had the upside down fork suspension at front, the Super Meteor test mule has the normal vertical forks which are also seen on the Interceptor 650 and GT 650.
Other changes will include the use of new switchgear on both of the motorcycles. Three test mules of Super Meteor showcased three different front forks - silver, golden, black. These colours shall be contrasted with the new paint schemes and shall not have any technical differences.
Accessories that might be offered as options once these motorcycles are launched were also being tested as seen. A large windscreen on the 650 Cruiser and twin panniers at the rear shall make good cruiser options. Also seen testing was a large chrome engine guard which was fitted with fog lamps on both sides. A proper cruising package is what we could get as options when these motorcycles are launched.
Not only the 650 lineups but Royal Enfield is expanding the smaller product range by introducing the latest upcoming motorcycles such as Scram 411. With the introduction of these new 650cc motorcycles, Royal Enfield will be able to provide entry-level performance bike buyers with a bundle of options to choose from. We expect these newer products to be priced between Rs 4 - 4.5 Lakhs when launched.
