2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 & 180 have been launched in India for Rs 1.17 lakh. The MY22 models now get a revised design, more power, & updated features.
TVS India has introduced MY22 make models of its popular Apache motorcycle. The 2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 & 180 bike has made their debut from Rs 1.17 lakh only. This is just a mid-life facelift as the changes are minimal. The key areas that have undergone change include styling, body weight, & features list.
2022 TVS Apache Design & Features
Apache series is uber famous among the young buyers across the nation. One of the main reasons behind this is its aggressive styling. Catering the same, TVS has now redesigned the headlights and taillights. The headlight is now a single-piece split LED light setup. Similarly, the taillight has also undergone an LED treatment. The dual-horn-type LED taillights are now brighter and look fantastic. However, the majority of the design remains unaltered. Meanwhile, the indicators are the same bulb units.
The RTR 160 now gets 5 new colour options. These colours are draped with new body graphics as well. The overall scheme goes well with the bike. Additionally, the RTR 160 now gets an updated instrument cluster with riding modes. It now offers the TVS SmartXonnect tech which is basically Bluetooth connectivity. Meanwhile, the addition of these has made the RTR 160 now look more fabulous. It is available in three variants - drum, disc, & Bluetooth. Its prices are Rs 1.17 lakh, Rs 1.21 lakh, & Rs 1.24 lakh respectively, ex-showroom.
The Apache RTR 180, on the other hand, is now offered in two colours - black & blue. It also possesses the new updated digital instrument cluster with 3 riding modes - rain, sport, & Urban. These riding modes alter its ECU settings along with the ABS functioning. It is available in 3 variants - drum, disc, & Bluetooth. Their prices are Rs 1.18 lakh, Rs 1.22 lakh, & Rs 1.31 lakh respectively, ex-showroom.
Engine & Specifications
The engines of both models remain largely unaltered. However, the power and torque figures are now very minimal changes. The RTR 160 engine is now good for 16.04 bhp (earlier 15.53 bhp). The peak torque has gone down a bit i.e. 13.85 Nm (current) from 13.9 Nm (old). Additionally, TVS claims to have reduced up to 2 kg of weight from the RTR 160.
On the other hand, the RTR 180s engine is now good for 17.02 bhp (current) from 16.79 bhp (old). However, the torque remains unaltered at 15.5 Nm. Similar to the 160, the 180 has also undergone a weight reduction of 1 kg. Apart from these changes, both models remain the same as the MY21 model.
Its main competition in India includes - Bajaj Pulsar N160 & Honda Hornet 2.0.
