Volvo XC40 Recharge Details
The XC40 Recharge has been designed on the CMA platform by Volvo. This structure is also used by its ICE-powered siblings. This translates that the EV XC40 is not much different than its siblings in terms of design & styling.
If you want striking looks & alien feelings from the design, the XC40 Recharge isn't for you. It looks largely similar to the regular XC40. Only at the front, the grille is different as it is covered with a plug-socket to recharge it. Apart from a few aero-aids, the overall design looks strikingly similar to the siblings.
Only the front grille design, the new alloy wheel design, and the EV badging at the rear will help you make out that it's an EV. Another good news is that this car will be the first luxury EV to be locally manufactured in India. This indicates that the pricing will be very aggressive.
The features list is also generous as the XC40 includes - a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android OS, a wireless phone charger, Google Voice Assistant, a panoramic sunroof, and Volvo On Call connected car tech, a Harman Kardon sound system, and a powered tailgate.

Powertrain & Driving Range
The powertrain is the most interesting portion of the XC40 Recharge. Volvo is using a 78kWh battery pack & a dual-electric motor to power the car. It is capable of churning out a peak power of 407 bhp & 660 Nm of peak torque.
With such power on offer, the driving range needs to be good too. Well, Volvo has taken good care of that too as it has a claimed WLTP driving range of 418 km. Volvo also offers an 11kW AC charger that helps charge it to full in 8-10 hours.
For the buyers who want a fast charging option, a massive 150kW DC charging option prevails. This charger can charge the XC40 from slim to no battery residual to 100 percent in just 40 minutes!
