Volvo EC40

Last updated On 22nd July 2024: The renamed version of the C40 Recharge, the EC40 is scheduled to be launched in India on August 15, 2024. The upcoming electric car will not receive any major cosmetic and mechanical changes. Except for the name, everything will be similar to the C40 recharge. The EC40 derives its powertrain from the XC40 Recharge. 

Price: Currently, the C40 Recharge starts at Rs. 62.59 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the upcoming renamed version will also carry a similar price tag. 

Features: The EC40 will offer features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12-inch digital instrument console. Additionally, there is a dual-zone automatic climate control, 13 speaker audio syste, a panoramic sunroof. In terms of safety, the upcoming EC40 will feature 7 airbags and 360 degree camera and an ADAS suite. 

Engine: The Volvo EC40 will get the similar powertrain which comes with the currently available C40 Recharge in India. It will source its power from a 78 kWh battery pack, paired with dual electric motors. Both electric motors generated a combined power output of 408 bhp and a peak torque of 660 Nm. On a single charge, the upcoming EC40 will provide a driving range of 530 km. 

Launch Timeline: The automaker has announced that it will launch the EC40 by Q3 of 2024 in India. Later on after the launch of EC40, Volvo will also introduce the new EX90 and EX30 in India.
