Volvo India recently announced in February that it would be changing the names of its models: the XC40 Recharge is now renamed as EX40, and the C40 Recharge as EC40. While these new names have been adopted internationally, the Indian market continues to use the old names for now. Volvo EC40: What To Expect?

It's interesting to note that besides the name change, there have been no other alterations to this model. Even its design will remain unchanged. Currently, there's growing anticipation for the EC40's imminent arrival. The renamed version of the EX40 is also expected to follow, though the exact timing hasn't been confirmed yet.

Presently, the C40 Recharge is priced at Rs 62.59 lakh (ex-showroom), and it's expected that its renamed model will maintain the same price range.

Volvo EC40: Feature Details

This electric vehicle is packed with modern amenities, featuring a 9-inch touchscreen for its infotainment system and a 12-inch digital display for the driver. It also features dual-zone climate control, 13 high-fidelity speakers, heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging. Safety-wise, it comes with a 360-degree camera and seven airbags. Additionally, it's equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features for enhanced safety and convenience while driving.

Volvo EC40: Under The Hood

Underneath its sleek exterior, the car is equipped with a 78 kWh battery pack matched with two electric motors. Together, they produce a combined output of 408 bhp and 660 Nm of torque. According to WLTP standards, it boasts an impressive range of 530 kilometres on a single charge. Acceleration is swift, taking just 4.7 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h.

Volvo is anticipated to introduce the EX90 and EX30 models in India soon. The EX90 has already begun production for international markets, and initial customer deliveries in the U.S. are planned for the second half of this year.
