- The 2023 C3 7-seater was spotted testing in Manali
- Will get 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, no diesel
- Might under-cut the XL6 / Carens.
Citroen started its innings in the Indian market with the C5 Aircross and later brought the C3, a much more affordable mass-market car. However, the sales could not pick up due to the lack of features offered by the carmaker. While the company is working on a feature loaded version of the C3, they are also developing a 7-seater version based on the same platform. Check the video below.
The 2023 Citroen C3 7-seater has been spotted in Manali. And as can be seen, it is completely camouflaged. The added length can be seen indicating that it will be a 7-seater version of the C3. Once launched, we believe it will be positioned above the Renault Triber which is a budget-oriented 7-seater car.
Mechanically, we believe that the C3 7-seater will be equipped with the same two engines as available in the normal version. Under the hood, it will get a 1.2L non-turbo petrol motor and a 1.2L turbo petrol engine. The latter is the most powerful as this turbocharged three-pot motor belts out 109 bhp of power with a peak torque of 190 Nm. This one gets a six-speed stick shift unit. There will be no diesel at launch.

The non-turbo motor produces 80 bhp of power with a peak torque of 115 Nm. It gets mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard. There's no automatic transmission with the C3 as of now, however, we believe that the 7-seater version of the same will get a torque-converter automatic gearbox as an option. It is not known as of now for which engine the AT unit will be paired too but it'll be there for sure.
Feature-wise, the C3 7-seater will get automatic climate control, push-button start/stop, power-adjustable ORVMs and more. Also, we can expect the upcoming car to ride on 16-inch alloy wheels. Currently, C3 gets 15-inch steel wheels and alloy wheels are available as an accessory at the dealer level.

With the country moving towards the SUVs, a 7-seater car that too under Rs 10 lakh can be a bold move from Citroen. As far as the prices are concerned then we can expect the C3 7-seater to be priced from Rs 6.50 lakh to Rs 9 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
