2023 Hero Xtreme 160R Details
Speaking of what is unchanged, the overall dimensions and design look similar to the current bike. However, as these are first test mules, we expect some changes to their design when it will reach the final stages of production. Meanwhile, the test bikes look more or less the same as the current bike. Hero recently launched an updated variant of the Xtreme in India. It is called the Stealth Edition and it provided the customers with an additional option of Bluetooth connectivity.
The new bike, meanwhile, might come with updated software for the MID. Additionally, the engine is also expected to undergo revision. We suspect that Hero might add the 4 valve tech on it as it did on the Xpulse 200 4V. This will help increase the top-end performance thus resulting in better highway cruising speed. However, we can not comment exactly as there is no official information present till now.
A close look at the spy shots also shows that the instrument panel is also unchanged. Not just that, but, the suspension and even the tyres also look the same as on the current bike. Hero offers the current Xtreme with a 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It produces a peak power of 14.9 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed gearbox as a transmission unit. We suspect that majority of the mechanicals will remain unchanged on the new bike.
Price, Launch, & Rivals
So, why is Hero developing a new Xtreme which is not as new as it should be? Well, the answer is the updated 2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. It has launched recently in India and remains one of the top-selling bikes. Additionally, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 is also doing a good job in terms of sales. Hence, an updated bike from Hero remains pending. We expect that it shall be launched in the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2023. The prices are expected to remain more or less the same with just a slight bump.
