2023 Hyundai Exter Design, Features & Engine Details
The success of the Tata Punch micro-SUV has pushed Hyundai to launch the Exter. The upcoming Exter takes inspiration from the global model Casper. However, there are alterations to its design with highlights like H-shaped LED DRLs, dual-tone paint job, etc. Additionally, Hyundai has announced that it'll become the first model in its segment to get an electric sunroof and a dual-cam dashcam. The dashcam will come with smartphone connectivity (via an app) & multiple modes. These modes include -Driving (normal), Event (safety), and Vacation (time-lapse). Hyundai has also equipped the Venue N Line with this dashcam and now the Exter will get it. The dashcam helps in case of accidents by recording the proof of actual events.
Meanwhile, the electric sunroof will be offered on its top variants as we expect. Hence, buyers who desire to have a sunroof in this segment will get an option. However, Hyundai aims not to compromise on its safety. Therefore, Exter will get 6 airbags, projector headlamps, and ABS as well as EBD. Under the bonnet, it'll be equipped with a 1.2-lt NA petrol engine. This engine shall be offered with manual as well as AMT automatic transmission options. Hyundai is also planning to introduce CNG variants of Exter in the coming months.
Verdict
The pricing of Exter B-SUV will be announced on July 10 officially. As it will get some first-in-segment features, we expect that it'll be priced between Rs 6-10 lakh. Additionally, it'll not get turbo-petrol or diesel engine options any time soon. Its direct rival will be Tata Punch & Citroen C3.
