Jeep Avenger SUV Details
Firstly, the Avenger is being co-developed by the FCA & PSA group. Hence, it will be sourcing the CMP architecture underneath its design. This architecture is used on the Citroen C3 in India. Meanwhile, the international model of Avenger is a bit longer. It stands 4.1 mt in length and hence the road presence is much stronger. Additionally, it will be launched sometime in 2023 in India as well. We suspect that it will remain largely unchanged. Its main rivals are - Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Creta, & KIA Seltos.
The design language of Avenger resembles other sibling cars like Jeep Meridian. Additionally, it gets a new 4 slated LED headlights & sleek front grille. The global model runs on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. But, we suspect that the Indian model will get smaller wheel size due to road conditions. Additionally, the rear end profile resembles the Jeep Compass SUV design. Its overall design is that of a butch & rugged SUV.
Feature list of Avenger is long too. It gets a fully digital instrument panel & twin 10.25-inch infotainment panels. Additionally, the global model features a level 2 ADAS tech as well. However, this might be de-tuned to level 1 when launched in India. The Avenger also gets panoramic sunroof & leather upholstery inside. The global model also gets different driving modes. These include - Eco, Normal, Mud, Snow, & Sport.
Engine & Specifications
As it is made on the CMP architecture, it uses a shared engine as well. It will get the 1.2-lt petrol engine sourced from Citroen C3. It is a turbo unit that makes a peak power of 110 PS. However, it will only be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox in India. Meanwhile, the future updates might get an automatic as well. As it is a monocoque C-SUV, it gets only a FWD option. However, its electric version will get an e-AWD setup. It is also believed that the electric Avenger will get up to 550 km of driving range.
Verdict
The absence of product in the C-SUV segment has pushed Jeep to make Avenger. Indian SUV segment is the hottest in terms of sales. We expect that Avenger's launch in 2023 will make the competition even more exciting. However, the debut of Avenger is still far away. Its expected pricing will be from Rs 8-12 lakh.
