KIA Motors India is preparing to reveal the 2023 Seltos in India on the 4th of July. Prior to the official launch, the company is conducting thorough testing of the SUV, and numerous test mules of the upcoming Seltos have been sighted in recent weeks. In a recent series of spy photographs, the mid-spec HTK and HTK+ versions of the 2023 KIA Seltos were captured.

KIA Seltos HTK & HTK+ Variant Spotted
At present, the Seltos is available in 7 different versions including HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X-Line. Among these options, the HTK variant is positioned above the base HTE variant. Based on a recently captured image, it appears that the HTE variant will now be equipped with front parking sensors and a digital instrument console. It is possible that the brand will also introduce additional features in the HTK variant.
Regarding the HTK+ variant, which is one of the Seltos's most value-for-money variants, it will now have extra features. According to the observed test mule, the HTK+ model would have a new type-C charging outlet in the central console, a digital instrument cluster along with an existing push-button start, an automated temperature control system, a touchscreen infotainment system, and other features. With these features, the HTK+ version has consistently been one of the KIA Seltos lineup's most VFM variants.
As part of the facelift, KIA plans to provide a plethora of features in the high-spec variants. These features are expected to include dual-zone climate control, an electronic parking brake, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, and very likely an ADAS suite for improved safety.

2023 KIA Seltos Powertrain
The Seltos will maintain the existing engine choices from the current generation. The base and mid-range models will feature a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine that produces 114 bhp. Both manual and automatic transmissions will be available for these variants. Furthermore, they will also offer the option of a 1.5-liter diesel engine. In contrast, the higher-end variant and the GT Line will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine matched with a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) gearbox.
Verdict: The upcoming KIA Seltos will boast a plethora of features and will create a new benchmark in the mid-size SUV segment. The KIA Seltos will continue to compete with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, & MG Astor.
