MY24 Tata Altroz - Feature & Variant Update
The 2024 Tata Altroz gets some new features and variants, but the brand has also removed some features. The new features are taken from the upcoming Altroz Racer edition. The brand has added some new variants with Lux suffixes and only the new Lux variants get the new feature updates.
The new variants are dubbed XZ Lux, XZ+ S Lux, XZ+ S Lux Dark, and a mystery variant not mentioned in the leaked details. The new Lux variants include features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, among other enhancements. However, the brand has distributed these features across different variants.
Moreover, Tata has removed leatherette seats from all the variants and the Altroz iCNG Dark edition has been discontinued. Features such as wireless charging, electric sunroof, and other features will continue to be available across the trims. However, ventilated seats will be available in the Altroz Racer edition only.

MY24 Tata Altroz Engine Updates
For the MY24 update the brand has removed the iTurbo turbocharged petrol engine option from the lineup. It's worth noting that the upcoming Altroz Racer edition will get a 120PS turbocharged petrol engine and the discontinuation of the iTurbo from the lineup is to divert customers to the Racer edition.
Now the regular Altroz variants will be available with 1.2-litre NA petrol engine with 88 PS of power and 115 Nm of peak torque, a 1.2-litre iCNG engine with 73.5 PS and 103 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 90 PS and 200 Nm of peak torque. These engine options will be available with manual and automatic transmission, the CNG version only gets a 5-speed MT option.
Verdict
The new feature addition in the Tata Altroz will make it one of the most feature loaded premium hatchback. But Tata Motors should've made 6-airbags as standard fitment across the trim. The discontinuation of iTurbo from the normal Altroz variants indicates that the brand want to divert turbo buyers towards the Racer edition. Also, we can expect some revision in the prices of the MY24 Altroz. The launch is expected to happen after the launch of the Racer edition. The Altroz will become a more tough competitor of the Hyundai i20 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
