One of the anticipated launched from Volkswagen this year is the Taigun and according to the reports, the bookings for the same has started. The Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Kia Seltos and Renault Duster Rival, Taigun is expected to be priced from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Volkswagen Taigun sits on the new MQB AO IN platform that helps in 95% of the localisation, making the ownership experience an easier one. Volkswagen Taigun shares the same platform as that of its upcoming cousin, Skoda Kushaq.
Under the hood, the Taigun packs in two engine options - a 1.0-litre TSI and a more powerful 1.5L TSI engine. The former is the same as the Vento but delivers more power at 115 PS with a peak torque of 175 Nm. The 1.5L TSI generates 150 PS with 250 Nm of healthy torque. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual but the 1.0L TSI gets a 6-speed torque converter unit while the 1.5L TSI gets a 7-speed DSG unit.

Like the Skoda Kushaq, the upcoming Volkswagen Kushaq also gets the largest wheelbase of 2651 mm, leading to a cabin experience. Feature-wise, a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control and others.
Safety on this one includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse parking camera etc.
