2023 Bajaj Pulsar 220F - Details
There were online reports being published suggesting that the 220F is coming back. However, there was no solid proof until now. One of Bajaj's Bengal dealers has posted the booking commencement for the bike online. As per this post, the new 220F price will start from Rs 1,39,686 (ex-showroom). Additionally, the post indicates that the bookings are also open.
But why bring back the 220F? If you remember, Bajaj discontinued it to make way for the N250 & F250. However, their sales in India have been moderate (except in a few states). Moreover, markets like Bengal & South India still have a huge demand for the 220F. Hence, the decision seems to have been made for its comeback. Meanwhile, we do not think that Bajaj will fiddle with the new 220F anyhow. This means that it will possibly look the same and remain mechanically unchanged as well.
Recalling the semi-faired sports tourer; the 220F has an iconic name for itself. It looks aggressive and is feature loaded as well. From projector headlights to LED taillight & semi-digital instrument console; the 220F has it all. Bajaj has equipped it with a 220cc, oil-cooled engine that produces 20.11bhp and 18.55Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. But, we think Bajaj will revise a few things. The single-channel ABS might be upgraded to a dual-channel ABS. Similarly, the graphics and colours shall be revised. Additionally, it is also unknown whether Bajaj will sell it pan India or in selected markets like Bengal itself.
Verdict
With slight updates and upgrades, the new 220F will bring back the zeal among the young Bajaj enthusiast customers. But, the addition of the updates might lead to a slight bump in its pricing. We're expecting an official launch of the 220F in the coming days.
