River Indie E-Scooter: Details
The River Indie E-Scooter hit the market in February 2023, with the first units rolling out of the Hoskote manufacturing facility in August of the same year. Just a month later, bookings opened up for the initial batch, and by the end of that month, they had already received over 200 orders. Fast forward to October 2023, and the first set of scooters made their way to customers in Bengaluru.
Now, they've opened up bookings again, giving you another chance to grab your very own Indie scooter. You can choose from three vibrant colours: Summer Red, Monsoon Blue, and Spring Yellow. Packed with features like all-LED lighting, a 6-inch colour EBN display, Side Stand Motor Cut-off for added safety, SafeGuards, a Boot Light, a Hazard light, a Glovebox, and substantial storage space with 12 litres in the glove box and 43 litres under the seat.

The River Indie runs on a Li-ion-NCA (Nickel Cobalt Aluminum) battery, packing 4 kWh of power. It's got a solid 26 Nm of torque, with a continuous power output of 4.5 kW and a peak power of 6.7 kW. Covering the Indian Drive Cycle (IDC), it can go up to 161 km, hitting a top speed of 90 km/h in Rush mode, with an impressive acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
You've got three riding modes to choose from: Eco, Ride, and Rush. In Eco mode, you can stretch your ride to 120 km, while Ride and Rush modes offer 90 km and 70 km respectively in terms of actual true range. Charging is not a hassle either, taking 5 hours to reach 80% with an 800W charger, and it supports fast charging. Now, let's talk brakes. The front brake is a 240 mm Disc with a Hydraulic Triple Piston, and the rear is a 200 mm Disc with a Hydraulic Single Piston. The braking system is a Combined Braking System (CBS) with Adaptive Regen, ensuring a safe and controlled stop.
Moving on to the chassis and suspension, it's built with a Steel Tubular Dual Cradle frame and a Dual Sided Aluminium Alloy Swingarm. The front suspension uses Telescopic Suspension with Hydraulic Dampers, while the rear has a Coil spring with Hydraulic Dampers Twin, providing a smooth ride. And the transmission? It's a Compound Belt Drive.
