With the rising competition in the premium hatchback segment, Hyundai recently upgraded all the variants of the i20. The Sportz variant is now the most value for money variant and the changes of this updated trim can now be explained in this walkaround video by Drive Expo. Let's have a look at what this new and updated Sportz variant of the Hyundai i20 gets.
On the outside, the Sportz variant retains its piano-black grille, halogen headlights and projector fog lights at the front while the rear continues with LED tail lamps. The side profile rides on steel wheels only but now measure 195/55 R16 compared to the 185/65 R15 present on the older model. Other visuals include window chrome garnish, ORVMs with indicators, shark fin antenna, body-coloured door handles and ORVMs and more.

The major change is on the inside as it now receives cruise control and automatic climate control. It is worth noting that the 1.0L Sportz variant is not equipped with the new features (auto AC and cruise control) and they're only offered on the Sportz 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel.
Hyundai i20 is powered by three engine options - 1.0L turbo petrol that makes 118 bhp of power on tap with a maximum torque of 172 Nm, 1.2L NA petrol generating 82 bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque and a 1.5L turbo-diesel that produces 99bhp/240 Nm. The non-turbo petrol is paired to a 5-speed MT and an optional IVT, 1.0L turbo petrol gets 6-speed iMT and an optional 7-speed DCT and the oil burner is equipped with a 6-speed stick shift only.
