With the global shortage of semiconductors chips, the waiting period for several cars and SUVs has risen. Among them, Mahindra also joins the list. So much so that when they launched the all-new Thar and XUV700, the waiting period was over 365 days in some cities. The case is similar for the Mahindra Scorpio N as well. In fact, according to the reports on the internet, the waiting period for Scorpio N is as long as 2 years.
The Indian carmaker has said that they will first prioritise the top-spec Z8L variant and would want to deliver 7,000 SUVs in just 10 days after the official delivery date which is Sept 26, 2022. Mahindra has also said that they will try to deliver the first 25,000 units of the Scorpio N within the first four months from its official delivery date.
Here is a table explaining the waiting period of Scorpio N
Variants | Petrol | Diesel |
Z2 | 90 to 95 weeks | 90 to 95 weeks |
Z4 | 95 to 100 weeks | 95 to 100 weeks |
Z6 | 100 to 105 weeks | 100 to 105 weeks |
Z8 | 100 to 105 weeks | 100 to 105 weeks |
Z8L | 85 to 90 weeks | 85 to 90 weeks |
The highest waiting period is for the Z6 as well as Z8 variants. Surprisingly, the waiting period for both petrol and diesel engines is exactly the same. The Z8L gets the lowest waiting period from 85 to 90 weeks because this variant will be prioritised first.
Under the hood, Scorpio N is powered by two engine options - 2.0L mStallion petrol and 2.2-litre, mHawk diesel. Both these units are also seen in the new Thar as well as XUV700, however, the power and torque figures are completely different in all three SUVs.
