MG is all set to bring a facelifted 2022 Hector and this time, it will feature ADAS. Along with the autonomous driving assistance, the new model will receive multiple tweaks to the design along with some additional features. MG Hector is sold in the Indonesian market as Wuling Almaz and just last year, its RS version got ADAS as a feature.
We believe that the 2022 MG Hector will get a new top of the line variant, Savvy. This trim will feature ADAS that is seen on the Astor, ZS EV and Gloster. Also known as an autonomous assistance driving system, it features lane assist, adaptive cruise control, speed assist system, front collision warning and more. The new model could also be equipped with a blind-spot monitoring system.
With the new Hector 2022, we can also expect an improved touchscreen infotainment system with a better UI. Currently, Hector's touchscreen is a bit laggy when compared to its rivals. Also, what can be expected is the AI Assist that we've seen in the MG Astor.

The changes are not over yet as we can expect Hector to receive a fully digital instrument cluster that not only looks modern but offer more information to the driver. There are rumours about the diesel automatic too but we can only share this with you once the official information is out from the carmaker.
Mechanically, there will be no changes at all. It'll retain the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. It belts out 141 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 250 Nm. This 1.5L petrol is also available with a 48-volt mild-hybrid set-up that gets a six-speed stick shift only. The non-hybrid petrol gets 6-speed manual transmission as standard and CVT and DCT as an option.

MG Hector also gets a 2.0-litre, FCA sourced turbocharged diesel engine. This motor churns out as much as 168 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 350 Nm. It gets mated to a 6-speed manual transmission only as of now. With the new model, we do expect an automatic transmission on offer.
So what do you think about the 2022 MG Hector? We believe that this new Savvy variant will command Rs 1 lakh premium over the current Sharp variant. MG Hector is priced from Rs 14.15 lakh to Rs 20.11 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Also, join our 91Wheels Whatsapp and 91Wheels Telegram group.
