Yes, this is the first Thar which was delivered to Akash Minda for Rs 1.11 Crore. Yes, that is what makes it special other than the 001 series. This is a petrol automatic version so it gets Mahindra's new 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine which makes as much as 150 PS with a peak torque of 320 Nm. Coming to the list of modifications then at the front it comes with an aftermarket bumper which is made of mild steel. It is coated with Line-X coating which prevents it from scratches and gets a matt finish. There's also a winch plate and shackles mounted to the chassis of the SUV. This bumper definitely affects the deployment of the airbags but then Bimbra 4X4 ensures that they are working on the airbags compatible bumper design.
Another modification is the integration of original foglights inside the new aftermarket bumper and they have changed the bulb to LED now. And to further ensure the right illumination in the night, they have upgraded the stock headlights with the projector set-up. The guys at Bimbra 4x4 explains that no wire cutting and any other alteration is done. It is a basic plug and play thing which they did so the warranty is not at all hampered.
Alo worth noticing is that the owner has decided to upgrade the tyres to BFGoodrich while retaining the original alloy wheels. These are all-terrain tyres and are widely popular with the off-road enthusiasts. The dimension now sticks to 285/60 R18 while the stock model comes with 255/55 R18.

On the rear, it comes with a towing hook which has a capacity of 2000 kgs. One of the major advantages of this towing hook is that it can be detached when you are not doing any serious off-roading and can be attached again with the help of the pin.
Moving our angle to the inside then you will quickly notice the placement of grab handles on the A-pillars on either side. This is the original ones which come with the Jeep Wrangler and it provides getting in and out of the Thar for people with short height.
