The sub-four metre SUV segment is gaining traction, and every manufacturer offers a model in this category. Renault Kiger was launched in early 2021 and it has been a great product from the French manufacturer in India. The Kiger comes with a decent price tag and a boatload of features. The new Renault Kiger comes with two engine options: a 1.0-litre petrol engine that produces 70 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 97 bhp and 160 Nm of torque. Both engines come with a 5-speed manual as standard and an AMT and CVT transmission as an option. The turbocharged engine is mated with a CVT gearbox that returns 20.53 kmpl mileage. The Kiger comes with some flagship features such as a 2.5PM air filter, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charger, and so on. Recently, the Kiger has received a 4-star safety rating in GNCAP.

Nissan Magnite - 20 KMPL

Nissan Magnite debuted in 2021 and has since proven to be one of the brand's most popular models in India. The Magnite is powered by a 1.0-litre NA petrol engine that is only available with a five-speed manual transmission, whilst the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine can be paired with either a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. The naturally aspirated engine provides 70 bhp power and 96 Nm of torque, while the turbo petrol engine delivers 97 bhp power and 160 Nm of peak torque. The turbo petrol engine produces 20 kmpl when combined with the manual transmission. The interior of the Magnite is laden with goodies such as a wireless charging pad, a JBL sound system, and so on.

Tata Punch - 18.97 KMPL

The Tata Punch is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine with 84 horsepower and 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine is connected to a 5-speed manual transmission with AMT. The engine can achieve a mileage of 18.97 kmpl with the 5-speed manual transmission, which places it second on our list. It gets a 5-Star rating in the Global NCAP crash test, making it one of the safest automobiles in its segment. Tata has also announced a Kaziranga edition of the Tata Punch, which features new earthy leatherette upholstery, piano black door trim, and other special features.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza - 18.76 KMPL

Maruti Vitara Brezza is one of the most selling sub-four metre SUVs in India. The Maruti Vitara Brezza is a decent compact SUV with a decent 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. It is offered with a five-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed AT gearbox. The Brezza is able to give a mileage of 18.76 kmpl with the automatic transmission. The features in the Maruti Vitara Brezza include a SmartPlay infotainment system as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and auto-dimming IRVM.

Kia Sonet - 18.4 KMPL

The Kia Sonet is one of the Korean automaker's best-selling cars in India. This sub-four-meter SUV is well-equipped and powered by a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine with a five-speed manual transmission and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT. The former can produce 81 horsepower and 115 pound-feet of torque, while the latter can produce 117 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. The Sonet gets 18.4 kmpl when equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. LED headlights, a 10.25-inch infotainment display, and a BOSE 7-speaker sound system are among the highlights of the Kia Sonet.
