Ford India has started transiting its vehicles to comply with the upcoming BS6 emission standards. Seems like Ford has decided to cut down some features to keep the costs in check. Ford Figo and Aspire will lose some features in the BS6 iteration.
According to a new report, Ford Figo will miss out on Automatic climate control, Fly touchscreen system, rear wiper with defogger, fog lamps, glossy gear lever etc in the Titanium variant. The Titanium variant of the Figo was feature loaded before with all these aforementioned features. Now the Titanium variant will come with a 2-din audio system with basic features like USB, AUX and Bluetooth support.
The Aspire, on the other hand, will get the Fly touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control but it will miss out on a glossy gear knob. The advanced Sync 3 infotainment will not be offered in the Aspire and Figo to keep the costs in check. Ford Sync 3 offers Android Auto, Apple Car Play, Navigation, voice commands and emergency assistance. Ford Figo and Aspire might not offer Android Auto and Apple Car Play in the BS6 models thanks to the absence of Sync 3.

Talking about the engines, Ford Figo, Aspire and Freestyle will be offered with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre TDCI diesel engines but BS6 compliance. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will produce 96 ps and 120 Nm of torque paired with a 5-speed manual. The 1.5 diesel will churn out 100 ps and 215 Nm of torque paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Ford India has already discontinued the 1.5-litre petrol engine which was offered with a 6-speed AT before in both the Aspire and Figo. The power and fuel efficiency figures are expected to remain intact after the BS6 compliance.
Ford Figo and Aspire despite being feature-loaded haven't done well for the manufacturer. Both the cars offer brilliant value for money and punchy engines. Figo and Aspire both offers 6 airbags in top variants which are best in class. Ford should price the BS6 model range aggressively to gather some buyers.
