Hero Electric has silently updated its most famous trio of e-scooters in India. The 2023 Hero Optima CX 2.0, CX 5.0, and NYX CX 5.0 e-scooters have debuted. The range is expected to start from Rs 85,000 and might go up to Rs 1.30 lakh. The prices of all three e-scooters will be increased substantially. 2023 Hero Optima CX 2.0, 5.0, & NYX - Details
Hero Electric has debuted all three EVs with new utility-based changes. First of all, the design of all of these has changed. The body panels are, however, the same as before but the addition of new colours is prominent. Meanwhile, new features like LED lights, LED DRL, etc. have also found their way into these. The prices of this trio start from Rs 85,000 and go up to Rs 130. lakh. We suspect that it'll be the Optima CX 5.0 that will be priced at the most premium. It'll rival other e-scooters like Ather 450X Gen 3 & Ola S1 Pro.
Additionally, Hero claims that these e-scooters will get a new "era" of connected features. This means that Xtec-related features like Bluetooth connection will come as standard on them. Speaking of the changes, the CX 2.0 gets a single LFP battery that claims to offer a riding range of up to 89 km/charge. However, the bigger CX 5.0 & the Nyx CX 5.0 get dual LFP batteries. Both of these scooters claim to offer a riding range of up to 113 km/charge. Additionally, these scooters can be charged fully within 3 hours of time.
Verdict
The recent update of the CX & NYX e-scooters has made them more desirable. However, the segment is already crowded and Hero needs to push their sales in any possible manner.
