Honda is all set to launch the new Honda City Hybrid in the Indian market. The City Hybrid will be the most affordable hybrid car in the Indian market and will boast a fuel economy of over 25 kmpl. While the car will make its Indian debut on 14th April 2022, the Honda City Hybrid bookings have already commenced at the dealer level. Here are all the details that you should check out ahead of the launch of the new City Hybrid in India in May.
For starters, the new Honda City Hybrid will use the Honda's i-MMD hybrid technology that boasts two electric motors and a 1.5-L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated Atkinson Cycle petrol engine. The peak power and torque output from this engine stand at 109 bhp and 253 Nm respectively while the two electric motors together produce an additional 109 bhp of power and 253 Nm of maximum torque. A single, fixed gear ratio will deliver the power to the front wheels while we are also expecting the brand to offer multiple driving modes that include only electric, only petrol, and a combination of petrol and electric. The Thai-spec Honda City hybrid boasts a claimed fuel economy of 27 kmpl.

Outside, the Honda City hybrid will feature a host of updates to distinguish itself from the standard iterations of the car. For starters, we will not be surprised to see a sportier exterior theme that includes new front and rear bumpers, piano black inserts on the front grille, ORVMs, and bumpers. In addition to this, we also expect Honda to offer an all-black cabin while we may also see Honda Sensing Technology that comprises a number of advanced safety features like lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning,e emergency braking, auto high beam assist, adaptive cruise control, front collision warning system, and auto high beam.
Having said this, the brand is yet to announce the official bookings for the new Honda City Hybrid in the Indian market. Honda is also expected to introduce a number of new offerings in its Indian portfolio in the coming months. The Honda City on the other hand takes on the rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus.
