Every car has a VIN - that is, the Vehicle Information Number. This is how you identify the manufactured month and year of the model. The length of the VIN can be as long as 19 digits, and it is mainly written close to the engine, and on some models, it is written below the drivers seat. Other times the number can also be visible through the windshield from outside.
Now how to decode VIN?
One cannot look at the number and know the manufacturing detail of the model right away. Let us explain how the identification can be made!
The 10th letter of the VIN represents the manufacturing year of your car. For example, if its a J, it is a 2018 model, and if it is H, it represents the 2017 year. The years and months codes are further shown below :
