Hyundai Creta EV Interiors and Features

Hyundai India has now revealed the interiors of the Creta EV, which are nearly identical to what we have seen on the regular combustion-powered Creta, featuring the same layout and ambient theme. It retains the blended 10.25-inch infotainment touch screen and digital instrument cluster. However, the UI display of the instrument cluster has been altered, in order to match the characteristic of an electric vehicle.

The infotainment screen can now also be used to make direct payments for EV charging. This is something Hyundai aims to capitalize in the future, as the car maker continues to expand its charging station network across the country, enabling direct payments from the car and exploring the car-as-a-payment platform.

The Creta EV takes its steering wheel from some global-spec Hyundai EVs, thus receiving some sort of differentiation on the inside. It also gets a shift-by-wire system with a column-mounted stalk.

In terms of equipment, Hyundai has now revealed that the Creta EV gets Level 2 ADAS, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control, a cooled glovebox, over 268 voice commands, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, vehicle-to-load, and 70 connected car features via Hyundai Bluelink among other things.

The Creta EV also comes with safety features such as six airbags, hill-start assist, hill descent control, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, child seat anchors, rain-sensing wipers, a digital key, and front parking sensors.

Battery and Powertrain

Details about the powertrain have also been revealed. The Creta EV will be powered by a single electric motor, driving power to the front wheels. Hyundai claims the Creta EV goes from 0-100kmph in 7.9 seconds.

As for the battery pack, they have been mentioned before; a 51.4kWh unit and a 42kWh unit. The 51.4kWh version produces 168bhp, while the smaller 42kWh version puts out 133bhp.

The 51.4kWh unit gets a claimed range of 473km on a single charge, while the 42kWh unit covers a claimed 390km on a single charge. Hyundai claims that the Creta EV can be charged from 10-100% in 4 hours via a 11kW wallbox charger, while a 50kW DC charger will juice it up from 10-80% in a claimed 58 minutes. With Hyundai's app connectivity, you get the option of remote start/stop charging, along with auto schedule charging and more.

Verdict

The Hyundai Creta EV is set to be launched at the Auto Expo 2025, and given that it goes up against a bunch of rivals, it will have its work cut out. If priced sensibly, Hyundai might just have another winner on its hands.
