Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) is preparing for the launch of its small SUV, the Exter, in India. Over the past few weeks, the brand has gradually unveiled various details about this upcoming SUV. The latest reveal includes interior features and pictures of the Exter, showcasing a range of impressive features that set it apart from others in its segment. Hyundai Exter Interior Features
Similar to other Hyundai vehicles, the Exter will come packed with a wide range of features. The interior will get a semi-leatherette upholstery with Exter branding on the front seats. It will include an 8-inch HD touchscreen and a 4.2-inch color TFT MID. The infotainment system will offer built-in navigation along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The MID will display essential driving information, such as TPMS for Highline variants, parking distance, door, and sunroof status, support for 10 regional languages plus 2 global languages, as well as seatbelt reminder indicators for all seats. Additionally, the Exter will support OTA updates for the infotainment system and maps, ensuring up-to-date functionality.
The Exter from Hyundai will incorporate the advanced Bluelink technology, offering a wide array of more than 60 connected car features. These features encompass safety and security, remote services, location-based services, vehicle diagnostics, and voice assistance. Notably, the SUV will be equipped with Embedded Voice Commands, comprising over 90 commands that can function even without internet connectivity. The embedded voice commands will be capable of understanding Hinglish voice commands such as "Sunroof Kholo" (Open the sunroof) and "Temperature Kam Kardo" (Reduce the temperature), among others.
Additionally, the SUV will feature H2C (Home to Car) Alexa in both Hindi and English, an infotainment system with a multi-language user interface supporting 10 regional and 2 international languages, and Ambient Sounds of Nature with 7 acoustic profiles to enhance the user experience. The Exter will proudly offer the best-in-segment wheelbase of 2,450 mm and a height of 1,631 mm.

Hyundai Exter Engine Specifications
The Exter will be equipped with two engine options. The first option is a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine available with either a Smart Auto AMT or a 5-speed manual gearbox (5MT). This petrol engine generates a maximum torque of 114 Nm and an output of 82 bhp of power. The second option is a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox that is compatible with CNG. This engine delivers a maximum torque of 95 Nm and a power output of 68 bhp.
Verdict: The Hyundai Exter will be a tough rival for the Tata Punch and other compact SUVs in the market. With its feature loaded interior and the inclusion of a CNG powertrain option, Hyundai aims to appeal to a broader customer base and attract more potential buyers.
