Recently, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) teased the upcoming Exter (Ai3) small SUV for the Indian market. To compete in the Indian market against the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Citroen C3, and other small SUVs, the Exter is expected priced between Rs 6 and 12 lakhs (ex-showroom). In a recent spy photo, the Exter is seen being tested on snowy terrain, suggesting that the SUV might have an off-road mode.

Hyundai Exter Snow Testing
The Exter is shown in recently released spy photos from Sweden driving on a road covered in snow. The snow is not very deep, but any vehicle driving in snow needs to be equipped appropriately. We may anticipate that the SUV will include an off-road mode, a city mode, and a traction control system if the manufacturer is testing it on snowy terrain. The SUV will have certain adventurous characteristics and can take you anywhere, the brand has already hinted in the teasers. The Europe spec model may be the only one to receive the TCS and off-road-centric mode, that too just for the highest-spec variants.
Tata Punch, one of Exter's primary rivals, has the high ground clearance and traction control as well. The Hyundai Exter could acquire the aforementioned features in the Indian sec edition as well to be a tough rival to the Punch.
Hyundai Exter (Ai3) Design
The upcoming Hyundai compact SUV will have considerable body contours and aggressive body shapes. If we talk about the design details, it will have LED headlamps up front and an H-shaped lighting element that is similar to the most recent Hyundai design language. We can also expect a single-pane sunroof, a 15-inch two-tone alloy wheels (like those seen on earlier test mules), and two-tone ORVMs. Despite its modest size, the SUV will be equipped with a wide tailgate that provides access to a trunk with a substantial load volume.

Hyundai Exter (Ai3) Engine Specs
The 1.2-liter NA petrol engine from the Venue is anticipated to power the Ai3. This engine will have a maximum torque of 114 Nm and a power output of 83 PS. Hyundai may use a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) or an automated gearbox for transmission responsibilities. With the Ai3, Hyundai may also introduce a 1.0-liter petrol turbocharged engine with 120 PS and 172 Nm of maximum torque. However, the manufacturer hasn't disclosed any details regarding the upcoming SUV's drivetrain.
Verdict: A strong rival to the Tata Punch, Citreon C3, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger may be the future Hyundai Exter. The Exter will continue Hyundai's reputation of packing its vehicles with a tonne of features. The SUV would be positioned beneath the Venue SUV and is anticipated to cost between Rs 6 and 12 lakh (ex-showroom). How do you feel about the upcoming Hyundai Exter?
