Hyundai has launched the much-awaited iMT or intelligent manual transmission option on its compact SUV, the Venue. We had broken this news a few weeks back and Hyundai claims this is India's first such transmission offering. Hyundai Venue iMT auto price starts at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India) and is available with the 1.0 turbo petrol engine only.
The compact SUV market has always been on the boil with new models and updated offerings. A few days back, Ford launched a more affordable automatic trim for the EcoSport petrol and Kia is gearing up to roll out the Sonet next month. Next year, Nissan will join the same segment with the Magnite and Renault is working hard to have their own SUV in showrooms soon. Coming back to the new Venue iMT, this added option will further widen its reach among prospective buyers.
For the uninitiated, the iMT gearbox makes use of an electromechanically actuated clutch for a pedal-free drive. However, it still gives you manual gear shift control. The Hyundai Venue iMT auto price range varies from Rs 9.99 lakh till 11.20 lakh. Let's quickly have a look at the updated line-up now for the Venue in India.

The Sport trim on the Venue is reserved for the new dual tone Titan Grey with Phantom Black Roof color option. Additionally, Sport Trim is also available in Dual Tone Polar White with Phantom Black Roof. This trim will be on sale with the 1.0 turbo petrol and 1.5 turbo diesel engines only.
The dual-clutch, 7-speed DCT continues to be on sale with Venue and is offered in the SX+ trim - paddle shifters have been added to it with this update. Likewise, the 1.5 diesel and 1.2 non-turbo petrol will remain on sale and will come with a manual gearbox only. Additionally, here are two new versions on sale:
