It's been a little over a year since MG made its debut with the Hector and needless to say, the mid-size SUV is widely loved by the Indian market. It comes with a plethora of features and engine options which gives the buyers to what variant and engine option they shall choose. In a recent, a new image of MG Hector has been spied which we believe is a mild facelift and could debut the auto option in diesel.
What you see in the pictures below is a mildly tweaked facelift of the MG Hector with new alloy wheels design, grille and could feature an auto gearbox for the diesel engine. This picture was spied in Vadodra, Gujarat where MG plant is situated.
At the front, the split headlight design continues with the exact same fog light housing but it is the upper part of the grille which sees a change in design. The honeycomb type grille which is observed in the lower part is the same in the upper part too.
Similarly, the side profile looks exactly the same except for the new alloy wheels design. Dimension wise they seem the same as before but aesthetically they now look better.

Sharing details on the rear profile then Hector comes with a red strip running horizontally with the taillights and a thin strip in the middle. This one, however, gets a black strip with a thick line of chrome running under. It'd be better if there is no strip at all like the Hector Plus. The design in the 6-seater version looks fresh and appealing.

Once launched, things will remain unchanged mechanically. It gets a 1.5L petrol which is also available with mild hybrid technology and a 2.0L FCA sourced diesel engine.
All the engines get a 6-speed manual as standard while the 1.5L petrol is also available with a DCT option. From what we believe then we could see a 6-speed AT gearbox for the diesel early next year when it gets launched.
