Just recently, Jeep brought back the Night Eagle edition of the facelifted Compass in the Australian market and we are eager to know if the American carmaker has any plans of bringing the limited edition of the SUV to India or not. The pre-lift version did come with this same edition and we think that Jeep India will be launching this limited Night Edition variant soon in the country.
This Night Edition is basically a blacked-out version of the normal Jeep. Yep, just like the Tata Harrier Dark Edition. The chrome treatment will be replaced with the blacked-out inserts present in areas such as the fog light surround, skid plates, lower bumper areas, fully body cladding and more.
The Night Eagle edition badge sits at the boot lid of the SUV and you also get blacked out Jeep inscription on the bonnet and the boot lid. One also gets to see the Compass inscription at the front door of the SUV. A blacked-out roof and 18-inch wheels set the aesthetics well for the Jeep Compass Night Eagle edition.

Move to the inside and you're welcomed by an all-black cabin with more black inserts than the normal version. This surely gives a sporty look to the interior of the SUV. Feature-wise, Jeep Compass is equipped with a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets powered driver and co-driver seats, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless charging and more.
We believe that just like the pre-lift version that was launched with the 4x2 Diesel, 4X2 Petrol DCT and 4x4 Diesel AT, this time too Jeep will be launching the Night Eagle edition specific to this engine and gearbox combo only. This same edition based on the pre-lift version was limited to 250 units only. Let's see how many units of this limited edition will be set aside for the Indian market.
Mechanically, Jeep Compass is powered by two engine options - 1.4L turbo petrol that produces 161 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 250 Nm and a 2.0L Multijet II diesel unit that makes 168 bhp of power with a maximum torque of 350 Nm. A 6-speed manual transmission is observed as standard in both the engines while for the automatic, petrol gets a 7-speed DCT while the oil burner receives a 6-speed torque converter.

In other news, Jeep also launched a more powerful and capable 4x4 version of the Compass and this Trailhawk is priced at Rs 30.71 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
