Jeep has finally launched the more capable version of the Compass that is also known as Trailhawk at a starting price of Rs 30.72 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new Trailhawk version is Rs 1.38 lakh expensive than the S(O) 4X4 variant.
Mechanically, Jeep Compass Trailhawk retains the similar 2.0-litre, four-cylinder FCA sourced turbocharged diesel engine that generates 168 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 350 Nm. This engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk now gets 482 mm of water wading capacity along with 225/65R17 all-season tyres that are capable of providing grip on several terrains like sand, rock, snow, mud and even rocks. Furthermore, the Trailhawk version also gets a Rock mode and sharper bumpers (front and rear) that improves the approach as well as the departure angle.

Design-wise, the Trailhawk differentiates itself from the normal version by the Trail Rated badge. It also sports LED projector headlights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, LED front cornering fog lamps, a new grey seven-slot grille with black surround, rain-sensing front wipers and others.
Other features of the Jeep Compass Trailhawk include a 360-degree parking camera, 12V power outlet, UconnectTM with 10.1-inch touchscreen, integrated navigation and voice commands, 9 amplified branded speakers with subwoofer.
In other news, Jeep is all set to launch their 7-seater SUV, Meridian by May this year. This SUV will rival the popular MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner. It will borrow styling cues from the Jeep Compass only and is expected to be powered with a similar 2.0L FCA sourced diesel engine. We expect the power figures to go up by 198 bhp.
