Jeep recently launched the Meridian in the Indian market at an introductory price of Rs 29.90 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and the deliveries for the same will commence from June 2022. This 7-seater SUV rivals the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster and Mahindra Alturas G4.

Powering the Meridian is the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel motor seen in the Compass. It belts out as much as 168 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 350 Nm. This engine gets mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and also gets an optional 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It is available in front-wheel drive terrain as standard and also gets an AWD as an option.
Feature-wise, the Meridian is equipped with LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a large panoramic sunroof, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Alpine 9-speaker audio system and more.
Safety equipment on the Meridian sticks to six airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill descent control, front seat belt reminder, a high-speed alert system, rear parking sensors, traction control and more.
Jeep Meridian is available in two variants only - Limited and Limited(O). Both the trims are offered with 7-seat option while we do expect the carmaker to bring in 6-seat option too with captain seats for the second row soon in the Indian market. The top end, Limited(O) AWD with 9-speed auto gearbox is priced at Rs 36.95 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
