One of the most promising and budget-oriented MPVs, Carens will soon get a price hike. Kia launched Carens this year and it is one of the most feature-rich MPVs in the Indian market.
Now, Carens will see its second price hike since its launch in February. The price hike can be seen at the end of this year and we will be sharing the updated variant-wise prices too. As of now, Carens is priced from Rs 9.59 lakh to Rs 17.70 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Under the hood, Carens is available with three engine options - 1.5L petrol, 1.5L diesel and a 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol engine. The non-turbo and oil burner makes 113 bhp of power and the peak torque for the same sticks to 144 Nm and 250 Nm, respectively.

The 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol motor churns out 138 bhp of power with a peak torque of 242 Nm. All three engines are mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard. For the automatic, the oil burner gets a 6-speed AT as an option whereas the 1.4L turbo petrol gets 7-speed DCT as an option. Kia does not provide an automatic transmission with the 1.5L petrol engine.
Feature-wise, Carens is equipped with an electric sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, auto IRVM, push button start/stop, ventilated front seats, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, digital instrument cluster, wireless charger and more.

Safety equipment on the Carens includes six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, hill hold control, hill descent control, front seat-belt reminder, a high-speed alert system and more.
Verdict
Kia Carens rivals Maruti Ertiga, XL6 and Mahindra Marazzo. It is a good product that is available with multiple powertrain options, is loaded with features up to the brim and offers good safety features.
