Kia Motors is readying itself for the launch of its second product, the Carnival. We told you earlier that the bookings for the premium MPV have unofficially begun at the dealership level at a minimum price of Rs 50,000. Now, according to various websites, reports suggest that Kia Carnival will come in four variants.
Out of the four available variants, the lower trim of Kia Carnival will host nine seats while the mid-spec model will get an eight-seat configuration. The other two remaining variants will host seven-seats and we expect that these trims will offer the best value deal.
The multiple seat options will cater to the needs of various buyers who want an upgrade from the Toyota Innova Crysta. For those choosing a 7-seat option then they will get captain seats in the middle row and a three-seat bench in the third row.

The top-spec trims will offer wireless charging, dual sunroof, three-zone climate control, powered tailgate, rear-seat entertainment package and other features. The MPV will also receive Nappa leather upholstery, power-adjustable and ventilated driver's seat. Also, a large 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO connect. The higher trims of the Kia Carnival is expected to be priced above Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Talking about the engine, then Kia Carnival will be offered in a sole diesel engine. The turbocharged unit produces 202 bhp with a peak torque of 350 Nm. It gets mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and the engine receives BS6 updates.
Safety features on the MPV will include Antilock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. It also gets knee airbags, side and curtain airbags, rear parking sensors, Blind Spot Detection System, 360-degree camera and among others.

In other news, after the launch of Carnival, the South Korean manufacturer is eyeing for the compact SUV market. Kia's QYI has been spied many times on Indian roads and will take on the likes of popular Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford Ecosport.
