Since Kia introduced the Kia Seltos Facelift in international markets back in April 2023, the Indian launch was expected very soon. The reason? It is due to the crazy success that the compact SUV enjoys here in the Subcontinent. The claim is reinforced by the fact that the compact SUV hit the 5 lakh sales milestone just a few days back and that too in a short span of just 46 months. And now, when the launch timeline is already confirmed for July 2023, there is one major update. Any guesses?
Yes. the Kia Seltos facelift has been spotted without any wraps for the first time in India. But, what does it look like, and what's new? Keep reading to find out.
2023 Kia Seltos Facelift In Pictures
There are noticeable changes in the front and rear facia while keeping the Seltos feel alive. The front grille and headlamps have been tweaked to inspire a little more sporty look with a lower bumper complementing the look. Looking at the loadings of the car, there are indications that it is the top variant of the Kia Seltos facelift.

At the rear, it gets refreshed profile with new tail lamps that bear a resemblance to something like the ones you get with the Kia Carens. LED strips at the front and rear are another element that you might see on the facelifted SUV. One thing that we already know is that this time, it is coming with a panoramic sunroof as clear from the earlier spy images. This is something that Seltos lovers always missed on their SUVs.
Features: ADAS On Its Way?
Seltos was never a feature-lacking vehicle, and still, nothing is changing. The global variant that launched back in April offers AWD and ADAS, whereas the latter is offered as standard across variants. The Indian unit will highly likely get the ADAS suite as well. Plus, it currently offers a host of premium features such as a wireless charger, ventilated seats, 3600 surround view camera, blind view monitor, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Similar Mechanicals
The engine is most likely to be carried from the existing Seltos. Current engine options include a 1.5-liter NA petrol unit that churns out 115 PS and 144 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and IVT gearbox. The 1.5-liter diesel unit makes 116 PS and 250 Nm. Transmission choices include 6-speed iMT and 6AT.
However, as a replacement for the discontinued 1.4 L turbo petrol engine, a new 1.5 L turbo unit could make its way. This new engine makes around 160 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
VERDICT- The Kia Seltos facelift is currently in production and will be launched in July 2023. With the hype it enjoys, the company will be looking forward to keeping the excitement alive. If the ADAS and the AWD make their way into the Indian units as well, the rivals like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, etc will find it difficult to match the new benchmarks set by Seltos with their current avatar.
