After having received a great response from the market, the Kia Sonet has now been introduced in a limited-run Anniversary Edition close to a year after its local debut. The Maruti Vitara Brezza-rivalling model had gone on sale in India on September 18, 2020 and went on to become a force to reckon with in the B-SUV segment.

Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition Price in India
Prices of the Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition start at Rs 10.79 lakh* and go all the way up to Rs 11.89 lakh*. The special edition model is available only in 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine variants. The announcement of the Anniversary Edition also coincides with the B-SUV speeding past the 1 lakh sales milestone earlier this month.

Speaking on the launch of the Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition, Mr. Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kia India said, "The Sonet has been one of our breakthrough products that have contributed to Kia's success in India. With sales of more than one lakh units in less than a year, the Sonet has already established itself as one of India's highest-selling compact SUVs. To celebrate this adoration, we are excited to launch the anniversary edition of the Sonet. Carved out of sheer design excellence, the Anniversary edition Sonet is based on the concept of Aurochs and boasts a muscular look offering a bolder and premium driving experience to our young-at-heart customers."

Feature Updates
The Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition is based on the high-spec HTX trim. The new model will be sold only till March 2022 and would carry a handful of updates over the regular version. The new model will be sold in four colours Silver Steel, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl and Pearl Glacier. The new model features an updated aesthetic package due to Tangerine Orange Accents on the skid plate and an Anniversary Edition emblem. Similar orange accents can be even found strewn on the Tiger Nose grille of the vehicle.
Inside, the Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition comes with mild cosmetic tweaks in line with the slightly updated styling package for the exterior. The equipment on offer includes an 8-inch touchscreen unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto AC, electric ORVMs, keyless entry and go, cruise control, rear aircon vents, audio and telephone controls on the steering wheel and cruise control. Safety features on offer include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, auto haedlamps, brake assist and electronic stability control.

Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition Specifications
Mechanically, the new model doesn't have any update over the regular model. The 1.0-litre GDi three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine outputs a maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 172 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine outputs a maximum power of 100 PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm when mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. With a 6-speed torque-converter automatic, the power figure is bumped up to 115 PS.
