KIA Sonet is one of the most feature-rich sub-4 meter SUVs in the Indian market. The SUV comes with a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Sonet currently comes in 7 variants. KIA Sonet New Variants Launch Soon
The brand is set to launch the HTE(O) & HTK(O) variants of the Sonet. The Optional variants will sit above the base HTE variant and the HTK variant. Both the new variants will feature a sunroof. Additionally, the HTK(O) will also get automatic climate control, an LED-connected tail lamp, and a rear defogger. With the inclusion of a sunroof, these variants will attract buyers who want a sunroof but don't want to spend much for the upper variants.
The brand has not yet revealed the launch timeline, but they have recently updated the variants of the Seltos and Carens as well. The new variants of all three KIA cars will attract more customers to the brand.
The upcoming variants will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The transmission option is most likely to remain the manual unit on both variants.

KIA Sonert Current Variant Lineup
Currently, the KIA Sonet comes in HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GT-Line, & X-Line variants. These variants are available with 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine mated with a 5-speed manual transmission, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine mated to a 6-speed iMT & a 7-speed DCT gearbox and a 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox options.
Verdict
KIA India seems to be expanding the variant lineup of all its mass-market cars. The variant expansion will help the brand to grab a more customers and to offer more affordability to its potential customers. As of now the brand has not disclosed the pricing of the upcoming Sonet variants but it is expected to be priced at Rs 60,000-70,000 more than the regular HTE & HTK variant.
