Kia Syros Details Leaked Ahead Of Launch
The upcoming Kia Syros is one of the highly anticipated launches planned for year-end considering the track record of Kia, where it has some of the most popular compact and mid-size SUVs like the Sonet and Seltos. Now, ahead of its official debut, the latest leaks have given us an idea of what the top-spec trim will offer. The Kia Syros is expected to be offered in multiple variants, catering to a diverse range of customer preferences. It will be powered by a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine, both derived from the Sonet. The variant lineup will include entry-level options with 15-inch steel wheels and a focus on value, mid-level variants featuring 16-inch alloy wheels and a single-pane sunroof, and top-spec variants boasting 17-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced Level 2 ADAS features, positioning the Syros as a technologically advanced SUV in its segment.
Notably, all the variants will come with a touchscreen infotainment system that will elevate its overall appeal with a loaded base variant. The Kia Syros, with its recently released teasers, has generated significant buzz in the market. Drawing inspiration from the design language of models like the EV9 and Carnival, the Syros features a distinctive profile with a unique window line. The interior is expected to offer a spacious five-seat layout and a host of advanced features, in line with the latest scoop.

Engine Details
The Kia Syros will be powered by a choice of two engines: a 1.5-liter diesel engine delivering 115 hp and 250 Nm of torque, and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 120 hp and 172 Nm of torque. Both engine options will be available, as well as manual and automatic transmission choices. Although the Sonet offers a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, the Syros will not feature this option. This strategic decision aligns with the Syros' positioning as a more premium offering within Kia's SUV lineup.
The Syros will compete with established players in the subcompact SUV segment, including the Skoda Kylaq, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and others.
