With this COVID-19 and lockdown in the country, everyone's following the main motto that is 'social distancing'. And carmakers too are accepting this new trend and improvising on the bookings of their cars. Such that Mahindra has started taking online bookings for upcoming Alturas G4 BS6, XUV500 and Scorpio.

The online bookings for upcoming Mahindra BS6 models like XUV500, Scorpio and Alturas G4 can be done here. Sharing details on the upcoming Alturas G4 then it'll only be available in 4x4 drive mode and one can book the flagship SUV for a token amount of Rs 50,000. Please note that the BS4 model was available with both two-wheel and four-wheel drive mode.
The SUV will use the same 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel motor that produces 178 bhp on tap along with a peak torque of 420 Nm. It only comes with a seven-speed automatic gearbox. The website also allows you to prebook some of the accessories like car fridge, blind spot mirror, mobile holder and among others.
Coming to the XUV500 then once can book it via online by submitting a token amount of Rs 5000 only. The SUV will remain unchanged under the hood and will carry the same 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine which makes 152 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque. It remains to be seen if the ARAI fuel efficiency will change or not.
Mahindra just recently discontinued the AWD versions of the XUV500. Once launched, it will be available in both six-speed manual with variant like W5, W7, W9 and W11(O). The prices for the SUV will be announced soon.

The last but not the least, the bookings for the Scorpio has also started on the Mahindra website mentioned above. One can book the Scorpio at just Rs 5000. The Scorpio is offered in four colour options only - Napoli black, Dsat silver, Molten Red and Pearl White.
It uses the same 2.2-litre diesel engine but in de-tuned form. This unit generates 140 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. It only comes in six-speed automatic transmission and no automatic is on the offer.
In other news, Mahindra is also working on the next-gen XUV500 and Scorpio. Both the SUVs are expected to launch in early 2021 and will be using new platform. Also, according to the reports they will come in with new features, technology and updated engines too. Also, XUV500 will use a petrol motor too and we can expect an automatic gearbox in Scorpio.
