Mahindra is finally ready to give its workhorse, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic a much need mid-level trim S5. This will sit in between the S1 and the S11 variants. The Scorpio Classic S5 will be offered with three seating configurations a 7-seater bench, a 7-seater with captains chairs, and a 9-seater w bench. The other variants currently get a choice of only two from the three options, depending on the variant. Mahindra Bolero makes use of a 1.5-liter diesel motor churning out 75 hp and 210 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Power and torque output figures will remain the same. The mechanicals is not going to change.
VERDICT- The Mahindra Scorpio in its current variant offering gave a very north-south-like option. You get an entry-level variant S1 and if not, you have to get the top-spec S11 trim. This never really made much sense. But this new speculated variant will be a more suitable choice. You will get a well-balanced proposition. Also, with the S11 touching the price points of Scorpio N, they both posed a challenge to each other as well. As for the Bolero, this is a welcome upgrade. The new variant will offer better flexibility and more value for your money. What do you think about these new variants? Do share your thoughts.
