Foremost is the introduction of a new dual-tone brown and black dashboard theme, a design choice expected to extend consistently across the cabin, including upholstery and door trim color tones. Additionally, a notable change is the enlarged cutout for the infotainment system, signaling the likely inclusion of a spacious 10-inch screen equipped with the latest user interface on the extended Thar model.
The discernible variation extends to the instrument cluster housing, indicating an imminent introduction of an updated digital or analog instrument cluster providing enhanced information. Earlier spy shots have already hinted at additional features such as a new front armrest, a sunroof, and grab handles on the A and B-pillars.
Expect exterior alterations as well, encompassing a fresh grille design, LED headlights, a revised bumper design, new alloy wheels, and LED tail lights featuring sequential turn indicators. These modifications collectively have already been spied on numerous occasions in past dates.
Under The Hood
Powering the extended Thar will be the same engine options as the standard variant. The 2.0-litre petrol engine delivers a robust 150 PS of maximum power and 300 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the 2.2-litre diesel unit produces 130 PS and 300 Nm. Both engines offer transmission choices, including a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
As for the anticipated pricing, the 5-door Thar is projected to fall within the range of Rs 16 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. To provide context, the current 3-door Thar starts at Rs 10.98 lakh for the RWD variant, with the top-spec diesel AT 4WD variant priced at Rs 16.94 lakh.
