Mahindra Thar 5 Door Interior Spied: New Details Emerge
The Thar 5 Door is expected to be approximately 300 mm longer than the 3-door model, which measures 3,985 mm in length. In terms of dimensions, this longer wheelbase version will be in line with compact SUVs like the Creta, Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara. Depending on pricing and features, there's a possibility that many consumers might opt for the 5-door Thar over traditional compact SUVs. Mahindra currently lacks a presence in the compact SUV segment, so specific variants of the 5-door Thar could be tailored to compete directly with popular compact SUVs.
Apart from the increased size of the Armada Thar, the overall shape closely resembles that of the 3-door model. The primary alterations are concentrated on the front and rear sections. For instance, the Thar 5-door showcases a slightly revamped front grille. Additionally, features like LED headlamps, DRLs, and LED fog lamps remain consistent with the 3-door model.
The side profile now incorporates additional doors and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles. Top-tier variants are set to receive 19-inch wheels, an upgrade from the 18-inch units found on the 3-door model. Moreover, premium features like a 360-degree camera may be included in select top-spec models.
Several features, including the steering wheel, storage compartments, and sunroof, are adopted from the Scorpio N. Components like the dashboard and switchgear remain unchanged from the 3-door model. The Armada Thar is equipped with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Depending on the variant, users will have the option to select between a black and brown color scheme or an all-black interior.

The Thar Armada features a full metal roof with a single-pane sunroof. Key amenities include rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, engine auto start/stop, hill descent control, a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, and front and rear armrests. The seats offer a 60:40 split option for the second row, with an anticipated increase in boot space.
Mahindra Thar 5 Door: Powertrain
The Armada Thar is anticipated to feature upgraded versions of the 2.0-liter petrol and the 2.2-liter diesel engines. Additionally, to cater to a more affordable price range, Mahindra may consider offering the 1.5-liter diesel engine as well. It is expected to launch towards Q3 of 2024 around the festive season.
