The XUV700 SUVs that scaled to the top was fitted with the 200Ps - 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission system.
Another resounding factor behind this amazing feat. has to go to the Mahindra XUV700s new sturdy monocoque chassis that is now 80% stiffer than the last generation XUV500. Furthermore, Mahindra has also made the new XUV700 lighter by 70 kgs compared to the XUV500. Mahindra has also implemented lightweight high-tensile steel and a lighter engine to further reduce its weight.
This proves that Mahindra XUV700 is quite a capable SUV and it is perfectly suited for places with extreme conditions. But the main cherry of the new XUV700 has to be its engine and several other performance features. Which we shall discuss below:

Mahindra XUV700: mStallion engine
Mahindras first debuted their mStallion petrol engine at the 2020 Auto Expo. It debuted with the Mahindra Thar, but with the XUV700, Mahindra made some crucial tunings. In the XUV700, this turbo engine comes with direct fuel injection, and it produces 200 Ps of maximum power @5000 rpm, and a maximum torque of 380 Nm@ 1450-3000 rpm. It can be availed with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. With this engine, the Mahindra XUV700 takes 4.96 seconds to reach from 0-60 kmph, when equipped with automatic transmission.
Mahindra XUV700: mHawk engine
Mahindras mHawk engine is the turbo-diesel engine. In the XUV700 it has a capacity of 2.2-litre and it produces 155Ps of maximum power. But its torque figure varies for with the manual transmission it produces 360 Nm of torque and 420 Nm of torque, depending on its state of tune. On the other hand, with the automatic transmission, the mHawk engine produces 450 Nm of torque. Just like its petrol counterpart, it gets the benefit of both a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.
Suspension
The Mahindra XUV700 gets a McPherson Strut suspension with FSD and a stabilizer bar for the front suspension. And the rear is equipped with a multi-link independent suspension. The massive size of the XUV700 makes the rear suspension a very important feature because the independent set-up helps keep the SUV stable, in treacherous conditions by manipulating both the inside and outside wheel rotation.
