According to recent reports, the launch of the India-specific Maruti Ertiga facelift is expected by March 2022. The new-gen Ertiga was launched in 2019 and since then, there's no facelift of that. Fast forward to 2022, there are a lot of changes that you can expect in this value for money MPV.

Sharing the details then the major change in the facelifted Ertiga will be a new six-speed torque converter gearbox. Yes, after several years, Maruti will ditch the 4-speed AT for a 6-speed unit. This new transmission will also be available in Brezza, Ciaz and S-Cross.

Under the hood, Ertiga will be equipped with the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated BS6 compliant petrol engine. This unit generates as much as 103 bhp of power with a peak torque of 138 Nm. A 5-speed stick shift comes as a standard fitment.
On the styling front, the facelifted Ertiga is not expected to change much. It'll feature the same bumper and headlight design, however, there could be a new mesh-style grille. Even in the spy shots, the grille design is hidden so expect a new one here. The top-spec variants of Ertiga might get smoked projector headlights to improve the aesthetics.
Similarly, the alloy wheels might get a blacked-out treatment that looks subtle. There is no major design change at the rear except for a blacked-out strip that connects the tail lamps. The current version uses a chrome strip at the rear.

Feature-wise, we can expect a new upholstery design in the cabin and it might also get a bigger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Currently, we're not sure if the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be wired or wireless. Other features like wireless charging, revised instrument console can be expected.
Maruti Ertiga is one of the most value for money MPV present in the market that offers automatic climate control, engine start/stop button, reverse parking camera, projector headlights, LED taillights and more. The price of the current version sticks from Rs 8.11 lakh to Rs 10.84 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. With the facelifted version, we can expect a marginal hike over the current version.
