Maruti Swift Hybrid
The Swift 4th generation was launched in early 2024, and since then, it has been creating new sales records every month, securing the No. 1 position on the sales charts. Despite being a customer magnet, the Swift was never offered with a mild hybrid system, as the fuel economy of this car has never gone below 20 to 22 kmpl. To add to this, the new Z-Series 1.2L 3-cylinder engine takes it a notch higher by achieving 24.8 kmpl with the 5-MT and 25.75 kmpl with the AMT gearbox.
However, the new Swift has lost its main characteristics with this engine; it's no longer fun to drive, as the 3-cylinder engine is not peppy and delivers power leniently. Now, the smart hybrid can fill the void and provide the much-needed extra boost, which can bring back the smile on the drivers of the Swift.
Lastly, international markets does get a Swift Hybrid with same Z-Series engine with a 12V motor, with option of two transmissions: 5 MT and CVT.

If it launches, enthusiasts will also take another look at the Swift, as it was known to provide a thrilling experience and used to surprise people with how fast this small car could go.
