Mercedes Benz is all set to launch its affordable electric SUV, the EQA Electric in India on 8 July 2024. The EQA Electric is the first of three launches that the automaker has planned for India this year. The EQA Electric will be one of the most accessible E-SUVs in the Mercedes Benz India portfolio. Mercedes EQA Electric Design
The upcoming EQA features the same design language as its bigger siblings in Mercedes Benz's portfolio. In the front, the EQA electric comes with a blacked-out panel with a star pattern. Above the black panel, there is a connected strip of light which also integrates the DRLs. The headlamp unit is high-performance with adaptive high beam assist. Talking about the side profile, the electric SUV has body-coloured wheel arches and 18-inch alloy wheels. However, the AMG spec trim will get 20-inch alloy wheels and AMG-specific design elements.
Mercedes EQA: Interior
Inside the cabin too, the EQA Electric gets AMG-specific floor mats, sports seats, aluminium trim, galvanised paddle shifter and pedals and illuminated door sills with "EQA" lettering. Additionally, the electric SUV gets a multi-function steering wheel with leather wrapping, reverse camera and climate control. Some other comfort features include four-way lumbar support for front seats and heated front seats.
Performance
The upcoming Mercedes Benz EQA is available in three variants, offering up to 560 km WLTP range on a single charge. The base trim of the all-new electric SUV gets a single motor setup, producing 188 bhp of power. However, the higher EQA 300 4MATIC and EQA 350 4MATIC variants come with a dual motor setup that churns out 227 bhp of power and 291 bhp respectively.
The electric SUV comes equipped with a 66.5kWh battery, supporting up to 100kW DC charger that juices up the EQA from 10-80 per cent in just 40 minutes. On the other hand, the 11kW charger charges from 0-100 in 5 hours and 45 minutes.
Launch Date and Rivals
The Mercedes EQA Electric is scheduled to make its India debut on 8 July 2024. It will expectedly arrive with a starting price tag of Rs. 65 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Once launched, the upcoming EQA Electric will compete with the likes of BMW iX1, Volvo XC40 Recharge and Kia EV6 in India.
