After taking the Mercedes Maybach EQS SUV to the Indian shores, the German carmaker has now launched the EQS SUV in our country. The EQS SUV launched in India is the 580 4Matic variant priced at Rs. 1.41 Crore (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Maybach EQS SUV comes with a price tag of Rs. 2.25 crore (ex-showroom). The newly launched EQS SUV 580 4Matic would be the fourth top-end battery electric vehicle offering of the brand. Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Design
Like other electric offerings from the house of Mercedes Benz- the EQS SUV also features sleek flowing lines for improved aerodynamics. It features a large black panel grille and a horizontally placed LED light bar in the front like other models in the EQS range. The EQS SUV gets a lesser chrome treatment and a single-tone colour scheme that differentiates it from the Maybach EQS. Additionally, it gets the AMG line package which includes a sportier makeover at both sides and the AMG-specific 21-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
Mercedes Benz EQS SUV: Features
The overall ambience inside is similar to other models in the EQS range. It has a 7-seater layout. On the feature front, the all-new EQS SUV comes equipped with a cutting-edge "Hyperscreen" setup which includes- a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, a 17.7-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch front passenger display. The carmaker is also offering a head-up display with AR navigation capability as an additional accessory. Additionally, there are amenities such as five-zone climate control, ADAS Level 2, nine airbags, soft-touch materials and leather upholstered seats.
Mercedes Benz EQS: Performance
As I mentioned above, the Mercedes Benz EQS has arrived in India in a single variant- the 580 4Matic. This variant gets a massive 118 kWh battery pack that enables a driving range of 809 km on a solitary charge. The powertrain setup includes dual electric motors (one at each axle) and produces 537 bhp of power and 858 Nm of torque. Due to the All Wheel Drive capabilities, it can go from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 4.7 seconds. Apart from this, the AWD system provides a great level of handling ease on various kinds of terrains.
