The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 5-seater version will retain the 122 kWh battery pack, which is the largest battery in any passenger EV. The ARAI-certified range of this vehicle is 809 km, and with a 22 kWh charger, it charges in 6.25 hours. With a DC fast charger of 200 kW, it takes only 31 minutes to go from 0 to 80%. The boot capacity of this vehicle with all three rows up is 645 L, and with one row down, it opens up to 2,100 L. This is enough to fit two to three bicycles in the back, along with two to three bags.

Foldable rear seats

Talking about pricing, the EQS 580 costs Rs 1.41 crore ex-showroom, so this upcoming variant could be around Rs 10 lakh cheaper. After this, the total number of variants for this car will be three, including the Maybach EQS 680, that costs Rs 2.25 Cr variant.

Verdict

This is a great step by the three-pointed star brand, as most users of the EQS hardly use the third row, and these seats are often used as storage for bags. With a slight price cut, the overall package will become more attractive. A lot of celebrities are using this car, as sedan culture is fading, and the EQS will be an overall better product. Lastly, starting next year, the company will no longer offer the EQS sedan and will instead sell an electric version of the S-Class, similar to how BMW offers the electric 7 Series.
