Soon after the launch of the Hector CVT variants, we were anticipating the discontinuation of the DCT variants in India. Despite being fast and smooth with its shifts, the DCT gearbox was known to be slightly less reliable and less fuel-efficient when compared to the CVT variants. The DCT gearbox in the Hector did not prove to be a success as many of the buyers were reporting bad fuel economy figures. Along with that a lot of buyers were also reporting reliability and heating issues with the DCT models. The CVT as well as the DCT variants were available at a similar price, and offered a better driving experience, all thanks to its smoother drive and improved fuel economy.
